Motivation for automation

The customer specializes in the production of value-added auto glass for premium car brands. Due to the properties of the chemical, the operation is unsuitable for human operators. In addition, the application of the chemistry is very demanding in terms of following the process steps. 

Project description.

The subject of the implementation was the development and delivery of a line for automatic application of primer and . The line is equipped with:

  1. Conveyor system with centering
  2. Automated system for the production of primer applicators and activator
  3. Chemical distribution system with flow control
  4. Robot with application head, guidance and optical control

Process Description:

  1. Glass arrives on the conveyor to the centering position
  2. Robot removes the automatically produced chemical applicator
  3. Robot drives to the starting position and applies the chemical along its entire length
  4. During application, optical inspection of the applied chemical takes place
  5. The applied glass leaves the conveyor to the downstream operation of the line
