Motivation for automation

The production of this component is demanding in terms of precision and there is an increased risk of injury with manual drilling. Customers supplying machined parts to the automotive sector must meet the requirement for 100% quality at high volumes and accuracies that would be unrealistic and dangerous for manual inspection. Due to the short-term production contract, the plant concept was chosen in the form of a single-purpose machine with a human operator.

Project description.

The subject of the implementation was the development and delivery of equipment for automatic drilling of holes in flow screws.

Process description:

  1. The parts are inserted into the bed by the operator.
  2. The device locks the inserted part and performs the drilling of 3 holes with angular displacement according to the specified recipe.
  3. Due to the higher temperature, the drilled parts are transferred by the manipulator to the exit chute for cooling.
  4. The machine collects data and communicates with the higher-level ERP system
